About Us

Door of Hope International (DOHI) is a Voice…a Helping Hand to persecuted Christians worldwide.

Founded by Dr. Haralan Popov who was imprisoned and tortured for his faith in Jesus Christ for 13 years in Communist Bulgaria. Since 1972, DOHI has delivered more than one million New Testaments and Bibles to Christians living under persecution and restrictions of religious freedom.

DOHI’s original ministry into former Soviet Bloc countries has expanded worldwide. Our focus remains to strengthen and rebuild the suffering church in countries where persecution and intolerance to Christianity exists. We continued to:
Advocate on behalf of Christians persecuted for their faith
Translate, print and distribute Bibles & Christian Literature
Outreach ministries into restricted countries
Distribute humanitarian aid to suffering Christians
Support pastors in countries of religious intolerance
Network with indigenous churches and ministries to help orphans, homeless children and youth, prisoners, refugees and others in desperate need.
DOHI is currently active in 15 countries.
Our International headquarters is located in Glendale, CA, USA. For other office locations please click here.
Door of Hope has been a member in good standing with ECFA since 1984.
“There are two things that sustained me during thirteen years and two months in Communist prisons. First…my life was truly in God’s hands and not the hands of my Communist jailers. Second, I was sustained by the hope that I might live and someday give my testimony to the world and tell what I witnessed.” Dr. Haralan Popov.
