Annabel Koher, the wife of Missionary Aviation Fellowship (MAF) pilot Ryan Koher who has been arrested in Mozambique, has asked Door of Hope International to share with you her video (here)
Annabel is asking Christians around the world to pray and fast for her husband’s release from a high-security Mozambique prison.
On November 4, 2022, Ryan Koher, along with two South African volunteers, was detained by Mozambique police as he was preparing to deliver much-needed supplies (vitamins, over-the-counter medicine and other goods) to church-operated orphanages in the Montepuez area of Cabo Delgado province. The entire cargo, as well as the airplane, was confiscated at the airport and the three men were immediately placed under arrest.
Ryan, who has not been officially charged with a crime, has been detained in prison for nine weeks. His wife, Annabel, believes that due to the flight’s final destination in northern Mozambique, where Islamic State-linked rebels have been terrorizing both Christians and moderate Muslims since 2017, officials became suspicious and jumped to the conclusion that her husband’s flight was in support of insurgent activity in the area.
According to MAF, Ryan has done nothing wrong.

Annabel Koher is able to communicate with her husband through letters. In a recent letter Ryan wrote: “So the spirit and flesh are always at war, forcing me again and again to the feet of Jesus, where I find my strength so that the outworking of my faith is confidence of mind.”
Please pray that the Mozambique authorities will look at the evidence and see that Ryan and the other two men with him were not trying to support insurgents. Rather, they were trying to support those who’ve been suffering most by the extreme violence – abandoned and orphaned children. Pray that Ryan would soon be released and be able to join his wife and sons in the US.
