Ebrahim Firouzi: Persecuted Iranian Christian Has Passed Away at 37

It is with a heavy heart that we share with you the sad news that Christian convert Ebrahim Firouzi, 37, has passed away into glory. He was a faithful, genuine, and humble follower of Jesus. In the face of persecution and exiled to Sistan and Baluchestan, a remote Islamic area of Iran bordering Pakistan, Ebrahim’s devotion to the Lord always remained steadfast. Please keep his family and friends in prayer.

 

EBRAHIM FIROUZI HAS BEEN  RELEASED FROM PRISON.

He was released on bail on February 27 following his hunger strike. The latest new charges of “propaganda against the Islamic Republic” have been dropped.

Ebrahim Firouzi, a 34-yr-old Christian convert was imprisoned on February 8 after being summoned to court on new charges of “propaganda against the Islamic Republic” following the release of six videos.

Ebrahim who was serving out his remaining days of court mandated exile, talks in the videos about a ministry informant who posed as his “friend,” about his harassment from the Ministry of Intelligence and Security and how his property had been confiscated.

“I ask Christians to pray not for my acquittal but for the great name of God to be glorified, for which I will be in court tomorrow,” Ebrahim messaged his friends before heading to court.

On February 13, Ebrahim began a hunger strike vowing to not eat anything until the new charges against him are dropped. On February 16, he ended his strike after authorities assured him that the case against him would be dismissed and he would soon be released.

Ebrahim Firouzi had spent 6 years in prison for evangelism. He was 27 when he was arrested in July, 2013. He was released on October 26, 2019 and mandated to two years of exile in Sarbaz city in a remote Islamic area of Iran bordering Pakistan. In March 2020 his exile was extended to an additional 11 months.
