A Christmas Miracle!

Dear Friends,

Imagine worshiping in a church service that you know could be bombed at any moment.

That was the case for almost 6,000 church goers in Kherson, Ukraine, during Christmas week.

As Ukrainians prepared to celebrate the birth of Jesus, hoping for a little solace during these dark days of war, Russia dropped over 150 missiles in a span of five days, blanketing the city of Kherson in total darkness.

Despite being aware that Russian soldiers stood only one kilometer away on the other side of the Dneiper River, men, women and children walked from miles away to join the Christmas services in one particular church. They wanted to hear the Christmas story, to lay down their fears, and to open their hearts to God!

Knowing that the large church would be full during Christmas services, Russia specifically targeted it with bombs. But God had other plans. Bombs fell close by. The building shook and terrified people ran in panic away from the windows for safety. But not one bomb hit the targeted church!

It was a miracle.

But a greater miracle followed. The terrifying event shook the hearts of those inside and 70% of the attendees to the Christmas services made a personal decision to follow Jesus Christ!

I am so thankful that in the darkness, the light of Jesus shines ever brighter, leading the lost back home.

Please keep these new believers in your prayers. Trying days lie ahead for them and for all of our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ.

In 2023, our hope is in the One that makes all things new! wish you and your families a very Happy New Year and may God’s peace reign in your hearts!
